Bar A is home to several of the top trainers in Arizona. We have a trainer for everyone. From beginners who are just getting into the horse world, experienced athletes looking to take their riding to the next level, or anyone in between, we can set you up to succeed.
Missy Gilliland is a dressage trainer and instructor with more than 15 years professional experience. She has studied under some of the most respected names in the country – including Jan Ebeling, Hilda Gurney and Tracey Lert – and is currently studying under Lientje Schuler. Missy is also an active dressage competitor with an extensive record of success, including earning her USDF bronze and silver medals, as well as achieving multiple top rankings in the USDF all-breed awards.
Missy enjoys working with a variety of students and their horses. Although she has coached ambitious adult amateurs and young riders on all breeds to national titles and top placings, she equally enjoys teaching riders who do not compete. Missy’s primary goal is to foster a harmonious relationship between horse and rider through classical dressage principles, while providing a supportive, encouraging, and fun environment. Whether you’re a serious competitor or a casual rider, Missy can design a program to meet your needs.
In addition to her activities as a dressage trainer and instructor, Missy is a USDF L-graduate judge with distinction. She is currently enrolled in the USDF program to obtain her r-judge license and plans on advancing her judging credentials over time.
